16 October 2009 – Another typhoon is headed towards the Philippines. Tropical Storm “Lupit” is expected to make landfall in Luzon on 16th October, with windspeed predicted to be 230km/hr. This is the fourth typhoon to hit the northern part of the Philippines since Typhoon Ketsana (Typhoon Ondoy) swept through Luzon on 26 September 2009.

Typhoon Parma hit northern Luzon on 3rd October 2009, damaging the already-flood-striken areas of Luzon and causing landslides in the Cordillera region. Typhoon Parma has caused 773 deaths, and affected more than 7 million people.
